Stargate Atlantis is an American science fiction related directly with the series Stargate SG-1, both based in the fictional universe of Stargate. Produced by MGM and developed for television by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, Stargate Atlantis premiered on the Sci Fi Channel on July 16, 2004 Rising to the episode as part of the cast Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks, the main cast of Stargate SG-1.
The events in Stargate Atlantis follow the final episode of Lost City of the seventh season of Stargate SG-1, in which the team SG-1 found an outpost in Antarctica built by a race known as the Old Ones ( "The Ancient").
With the developments in New Order, initial episode of the eighth season of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Command sends an international team to investigate the post. Dr. Jackson discovers the location of the greatest city created by the Ancients: Atlantis. The new series follows the adventures of a group of scientists and military personnel embark on a journey of no return for that city in the Pegasus Galaxy. Just as teams of Stargate SG-1, the use by new team of Stargate puts humanity into contact with other cultures, some human, some alien, some friendly, some deeply hostile to the Wraith.| < Prev |
